Dry and Cozy

Not a whole lot of color work going on lately. I am happy that I was able to get this sketch done, though. I'm finding myself dangerously close to falling into a rut. Forcing myself to sketch when I don't feel like it is the only way to avoid that.

I do have some color I'd like to post soon. They're photos, but they might be interesting due to their holiday nature. Stay tuned. :)

Little Red

Another chicken! So not much painting going on in these parts, just lots of sketching.

Hopefully I'll get a few paintings put up here before the year is out. I hope you're enjoying the holiday season!

Cock-a-Doodle

A Sunday scribble to warm up. I've had chickens on the brain lately. Wonder what he's looking at...

PiBoId-Mo pictures!

PiBoIdMo has been one of the best things I could have done for my art this month. Not only do I have a ton of ideas that can be turned into stories, but those same ideas are sparking all kinds of characters to life in my mind.

Meet Bess. This little cowgirl has all kinds of trouble coming her way. Trouble she wasn't even looking for! Isn't that the way of it, though?
How about you? Has PiBoIdMo inspired you in ways beyond the written word?

Little Hen

I've had this chicken running around in my head for the last week. Something tells me she's trouble. :)

Ed Emberley's Make A World

"Make a World : the Film" Teaser from makeaworldfilm on Vimeo.

I can't even tell you how much Emberley influenced me as a child. I've already started stockpiling his books for my son. :)

PiBoIdMo- Day2

I certainly don't expect to post every single day of this month, but I'm trying to maintain the momentum I have going for as long as possible. I have my second idea listed and a vague outline started-woot!

And here's the crude thumbnail that goes along with my idea. :) Go check out the NaPiBoIdMo official blog and read what guest blogger Aaron Reynolds has to say about book titles.
